How our instant quote tool works
Upload one or more STL files, configure how each part should print, and get a live price per part. Add items to the cart on the right, then check out or request a quote review. The previews below mirror the current online quote tool layout: Models on the left, Print Options in the centre, and Cart on the right.
The layout at a glance
On desktop the tool is three columns. On a phone the same panels stack, but the workflow is identical.
Four steps to your quote
Upload your models
Drop STL files into ADD FILES (or drag onto the page). Each file becomes its own card, measured automatically.
Configure each part
Select a card, set material, colour, layer height, infill and any post-production in Print Options.
Set quantities & compare bulk pricing
Use the − / + stepper on each card. Bulk discounts apply automatically; open Show bulk price to see the tier table.
Add to cart & check out
Tap the cart icon on each card (or use ADD ALL PARTS TO CART), review the Cart column, then CHECK OUT or request a quote.
Step 1 — Upload your models
In the Models panel, click ADD FILES or drag STL files anywhere on the quote page. Upload one part or many at once — each up to 128 MB.
Every file becomes its own model card with thumbnail, specs, quantity stepper, live price, and add-to-cart control. Click a card to select it (blue outline + pencil icon) and open it in the 3D preview.
Clear all in the Models header removes every uploaded file from the list (it does not empty the cart). The bin on each card's right edge deletes that one upload.
Step 2 — Print Options for the selected part
Preview colour is indicative only — the actual printed colour may vary.
Moisture-resistant. Good for functional parts.
A standard, well-rounded finish for most functional parts. The best balance of finish and value.
Click a model card to select it. The active card gets a blue border and a small pencil beside the file name. Its mesh opens in the 3D preview with name, size and volume overlaid in the corner (and triangle count along the bottom edge).
In Print Options you set:
- Technology — currently FDM for most jobs.
- Material — strength, heat and finish trade-offs.
- Color — swatch picker with live preview tint on the model.
- Layer thickness — finer layers = smoother surface.
- Filling (infill) — how solid the inside is.
- Post production — optional finishing when available.
Printing several parts the same way? Click Apply these settings to all parts to copy material, colour, layer and infill to every upload. Quantities stay per-part.
If a part exceeds our build volume, a red Exceeds build volume · manual quote chip appears on the card and instant checkout is disabled for that part — use Request quote review instead.

Step 3 — Quantity & bulk pricing
Each model card has its own − / + quantity stepper. The large figure on the right is the line total for that part (inc GST); the grey line beneath is price per part. Both update as you change quantity or options.
Bulk discounts apply automatically as quantity rises — no coupon code. Typical tiers are 5+ (5% off), 10+ (10% off), 25+ (15% off) and 50+ (20% off) (exact tiers may vary; your tool shows the live table).
Tap Show bulk price under the stepper to expand the tier table on that card. The row for your current quantity is highlighted.
If you change quantity after a part is already in the cart, the green check reverts to the cart icon — tap it again to add the updated configuration.
Step 4 — Cart, shipping & checkout
The Cart column on the right is your running order. It is separate from the Models list — adding parts does not remove them from your uploads.
- Configure a part in Print Options and set its quantity on the model card.
- Add to cart using the cart icon on the card's right rail (top half). While adding, a spinner shows; when done, a green check confirms it is in the cart.
- Repeat for each part, or use ADD ALL PARTS TO CART at the bottom of Models when every ready part should go in at once.
- Review line items, shipping, setup fee and total in Cart, then CHECK OUT.
Two different remove actions:
- Clear all (Models header) — deletes uploaded files from the list.
- Clear cart (Cart header) — empties the WooCommerce cart but keeps your uploads so you can re-add with different options.
- Bin on the card rail (bottom half) — deletes that upload entirely (and removes it from cart if it was added).
Enter your postcode in the Shipping section to see carrier rates. Order notes (PO number, tolerances, end use…) sit above checkout.
Not ready to pay? After at least one item is in the cart, use Request quote review or Email me this quote (sign-in required). Every order is reviewed before printing.

When a part needs manual review
Most parts get an instant price. Very large parts (beyond our standard build volume), unusually complex geometry, or high quantities may flag Request quote review — we confirm the best price and printability before you pay.
You can still configure the part normally. If checkout is blocked for review, use Request quote review from the Cart column. Nothing is printed until the quote is confirmed.
Save on Setup Fee and shipping
Both thresholds use your items subtotal (parts only, inc GST, before shipping).
Setup Fee waived at $250 items subtotal
The per-order Setup Fee shows as WAIVED in Cart once your items subtotal reaches $250 (inc GST).
Free shipping at $160 items subtotal
Reach $160 items subtotal and standard delivery becomes free. Below that, Cart shows how much more you need with a progress bar.

Frequently asked questions
Tap any question to expand.
What file type do I upload?
.STL files only, up to 128 MB each. Drag onto the page or use ADD FILES in the Models panel.
Do I need an account to see prices?
No — upload, configure and see full pricing without signing in. Account details are collected at checkout or when you email/request a quote.
Which material should I choose?
PLA+ for prototypes and display; PETG for everyday functional parts; ABS/ASA for heat or outdoor use; nylon and carbon-fibre grades for demanding jobs; TPU for flexible parts. Use the material picker above or email us for advice.
Why did the price change when I changed a setting?
Price reflects real material use, print time and complexity for your exact mesh and options. Material, colour, layer height, infill and quantity all update the live server price.
How do bulk discounts work?
Each model card has its own quantity. As quantity crosses a tier, the per-part price on that card drops automatically. Tap Show bulk price on the card to see all tiers.
Can I add several parts at once?
Yes — use ADD ALL PARTS TO CART at the bottom of Models when every configured part is ready, or add one at a time with the cart icon on each card.
What is the difference between Clear all and Clear cart?
Clear all removes uploaded files from the Models list. Clear cart empties the order in the Cart column but keeps your uploads so you can adjust options and re-add.
How accurate is the instant price?
It is calculated server-side from your STL geometry and selected options. Every order is still reviewed before printing; if anything needs attention we contact you before production.
Can I get help before ordering?
Yes — Request quote review sends your whole cart to our team, or email [email protected].
