TPU Flexible 3D Printing Services
Rubber-like, flexible TPU 3D printing for seals, gaskets, grips and shock-absorbing parts, bends, stretches and rebounds, with instant online quotes and Australia-wide delivery.

Flexible, Rubber-Like Parts
TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a flexible, rubber-like material that bends, stretches and springs back. It brings elasticity and shock absorption to parts that rigid plastics simply cannot deliver.
At Solidium3D we print TPU for seals, gaskets, grips, bumpers and flexible fittings. Upload your STL for an instant quote and tell us the flexibility you need, we will match the right shore hardness.
Why Choose TPU
Elasticity, grip and durability for parts that need to flex.
Flexible & Elastic
Bends and stretches, then returns to shape.
Shock Absorbing
Cushions impacts and dampens vibration.
Abrasion Resistant
Tough wearing surface for grips and pads.
Good Grip
Soft-touch, high-friction surfaces.
Chemical Resistant
Handles oils and many chemicals.
Durable
Survives repeated bending and compression.
TPU for Seals, Grips & Gaskets
TPU is ideal for seals, gaskets, grips, bumpers, straps and protective covers, parts that must flex, cushion or grip in service.
We can print a range of flexibilities (shore hardness) to match your application, from firm-but-flexible to soft and rubbery. Tell us how the part is used and we will recommend the right feel.
TPU Properties
Indicative properties, share your requirements and we will confirm what is achievable.
| Flexibility | High, rubber-like elasticity |
|---|---|
| Hardness | Typically ~95A (other grades on request) |
| Abrasion resistance | Excellent for wear surfaces |
| Shock absorption | Excellent, cushions and dampens |
| Chemical resistance | Good against oils and many chemicals |
| Best for | Seals, gaskets, grips, bumpers, flexible parts |
What TPU Is Best For
Seals & Gaskets
Flexible sealing parts for enclosures and fittings.
Grips & Handles
Soft-touch, high-friction surfaces.
Bumpers & Pads
Shock-absorbing protective components.
Straps & Bands
Stretchable, durable flexible parts.
Phone/Device Cases
Protective, flexible enclosures.
Vibration Dampers
Mounts that isolate vibration and noise.
How It Works
From CAD file to flexible TPU parts in four simple steps.
Upload STL, OBJ, STEP or STP files for an instant, geometry-based TPU price.
Select TPU, tell us the feel you want, and set quantity with live pricing.
We print TPU slowly with settings that keep flexible walls watertight and strong.
Every part is inspected, packed and dispatched Australia-wide within 2 to 5 business days.
Design Tips for Flexible Parts
Flexible parts behave differently, and small design decisions change the feel dramatically. Wall count controls stiffness: two perimeter walls give a squashy grip, four walls a firm bumper, even in the same TPU. Tell us the feel you want and we will tune it.
For seals and gaskets, design 10 to 15 percent compression into the groove depth: TPU seals by squashing, and that preload keeps joints tight through vibration. Avoid knife-edge features below 1 mm; flexible materials tear from thin notches.
Straps, bands and hinges last longest when the bending region has uniform thickness and rounded roots. If a part stretches in service, keep elongation under about 20 percent of TPU's limit for effectively infinite fatigue life.
Finishing & Post-Processing
Flexible parts arrive ready to work, with options where precision matters.
Support Removal
Gentle removal that leaves flexible surfaces unmarked.
Hole Sizing
Punch-finished or drilled holes for fastener pass-throughs.
Feel Tuning
Wall and infill adjustments to hit your target softness.
Sealing Advice
Compression and groove design guidance for gaskets.
Industries That Choose TPU
Wherever parts must cushion, grip or seal, TPU delivers.
Consumer Electronics
Protective cases, bumpers and strain reliefs.
Industrial
Vibration mounts, seals and machine feet.
Medical & Wellbeing
Comfortable grips and cushioned contact parts.
Footwear & Wearables
Straps, buckles and flexible structural parts.
Automotive
Grommets, boots and vibration-damping mounts.
Robotics
Compliant grippers that handle delicate objects.
What to Send Us
- 3D file: STL preferred; STEP, STP and OBJ accepted.
- Units & scale: millimetres, at real-world size.
- Target feel: soft grip, firm bumper or something between; we tune walls to match.
- Compression: for seals, tell us the groove so we design in preload.
- Stretch in service: note features that flex or stretch repeatedly.
- Quantity: batch pricing applies automatically in the quote tool.
TPU 3D Printing FAQs
How flexible is TPU?
TPU is rubber-like, it bends and stretches then rebounds. We can print different shore hardnesses to tune how soft or firm the part feels.
Is TPU durable?
Yes. TPU is abrasion-resistant and handles repeated bending and compression, making it ideal for grips, seals and bumpers.
Can you print soft or firm TPU?
We offer a range of flexibilities. Tell us the application and we will recommend the right grade for the feel and performance you need.
Is TPU good for seals and gaskets?
TPU is a strong choice for flexible seals and gaskets. For a fully airtight or watertight seal, we will advise on design and finishing.
What does shore hardness actually mean?
It is a squeeze test: 95A feels like a skateboard wheel, softer grades like a firm rubber band. Most functional parts print beautifully at 95A; ask if you need softer.
Will TPU parts tear?
TPU is remarkably tear-resistant if features stay above about 1 mm thick with rounded roots. Sharp internal notches are the only real enemy; we check for them before printing.
Does TPU degrade with age or sunlight?
TPU handles ageing, oils and flexing very well. For years of direct sun exposure we may suggest design tweaks or a UV-stable colour choice.
How much does TPU printing cost?
Flexible printing runs slower than rigid materials, so TPU sits modestly above PETG in price. Upload your STL for an exact instant quote.
